On September 20, 2021, AKOTEC, the solar thermal manufacturer in Angermünde, implemented the transformer station. The reason behind this implementation is a planned expansion of the hall building where AKOTEC’s collectors are produced. Due to the high order volume, the company requires more space for production and new employees.
Despite the pandemic leaving a significant impact on the economic performance of many companies, the Angermünde-based company AKOTEC is on a successful path. The company is a producer of high-quality solar collectors and exports its products worldwide. As the order volume grows daily, AKOTEC urgently needs more production and storage capacity.
This project has now been approved by the city of Angermünde. For this reason, on September 20, the transformer station implementation took place, as the existing production hall is being expanded by 200 m².
This not only provides the much-needed increase in space for production and storage but also offers more room for new employees. AKOTEC is always on the lookout for qualified personnel. This year alone, AKOTEC has hired 10 new employees. With the expansion of the hall, new possibilities for designing production processes and, therefore, new capacities for additional employees are also created.
However, the space coming with the hall expansion will not be enough to meet the growing demand for solar thermal energy. Particularly for the production of the innovative MEGA collector, the company is seeking another production hall in the Angermünde area. For this reason, AKOTEC is open to offers.
AKOTEC is considered one of the most important employers in the region. The company has been producing modern tube collectors since 2008 and sells them worldwide. Recently, the company completed a large order for the production of 165 MEGA collector segments for the Gas Pressure Regulation Station Eugal in Kienbaum.
All collectors sold by AKOTEC are manufactured at the production site in Angermünde. In 2019, AKOTEC received the Berlin-Brandenburg Future Award for its innovative technologies.
