The solar collector manufacturer AKOTEC from Angermünde is supporting the Free Outdoor School by providing learning materials and helping design learning spaces for the children in their early years. CEO Reinhold Weiser visited the children of the Free Outdoor School last Wednesday to hand over the symbolic certificate to Principal Ramon Hassel.
The newest educational project in the Uckermark opened its doors this summer. Before the school can receive state support, it must finance itself independently for the first three years. AKOTEC supports the Free Outdoor School with an annual fixed amount during these initial years. This way, a local company is supporting a local project. Regional collaboration is important to AKOTEC.
“For the Free Outdoor School, a group of dedicated people have come together to implement their visionary idea of an alternative learning space in Angermünde. We support such initiatives. Therefore, we are happy to offer our help, especially in the first three years of self-financing,” said AKOTEC CEO Reinhold Weiser.
In the past, the company has been involved in various regional projects. For example, AKOTEC developed a specially designed solar shower for the NABU Nature Experience Center Blumberger Mühle, which is powered by vacuum collectors from their Angermünde production.
In the summer, the children of the Free Outdoor School will conduct their first experiments with solar energy to heat water.
AKOTEC is considered one of the most important employers in the Angermünde area. The manufacturer of full-vacuum tube collectors produces 2,000 standard collectors and 200 MEGA collectors annually at its Angermünde location. From processes to machines to the final product, the company develops everything independently. This allows AKOTEC to guarantee its customers a high level of quality. For its innovative products, AKOTEC was awarded the Innovation Prize last year. By supporting the Free Outdoor School, AKOTEC is investing in the future of the region.
The newly founded school aims to be a place for self-directed learning. With the donations collected, the school community aims to further equip the school with learning materials and create new learning spaces. In the largest room, a platform will be built that can be used for theater performances, as well as for learning and reading. Covered learning areas will be created outside. The needs and wishes of the children will be taken into account.
