We are pleased to announce the completion of the expansion of our production hall. This extension adds an additional 252 square meters to our existing production facility.
The reason for this expansion is our consistently high order volume, which requires more space for both production and the storage of finished products. It also allows us to better support our growing team by providing improved working conditions.
We are proud to continue growing and expanding our capacity to meet the needs of our customers.
After a careful and focused transition phase, we bid farewell with gratitude and deep appreciation to Reinhold Weiser as he steps down from the management of AKOTEC.
This step, announced three years ago, marks an important milestone in the continued development of our company. We are proud of his many years of dedicated service and commitment. The leadership of AKOTEC will now be taken over by Managing Director Katrin Sprenger, supported by an experienced management team consisting of Sandy Hasenbein, Jan Köhler, and Marcel Ganske. Together, they will shape and drive the future of our company. We are confident that this change will ensure both the continuity and growth of AKOTEC. We sincerely thank Reinhold Weiser for his dedication and warmly welcome the new leadership team.
December:
In December, we were deeply saddened by painful news: our founder, former managing director, coach, partner, and friend Reinhold Weiser passed away after a short, serious illness. His sudden loss leaves a profound void in our company and in our hearts. We remember him with great gratitude for his visionary leadership and tireless commitment to AKOTEC. His legacy will live on in our work and our pursuit of excellence.
We have extensively renovated our company building to underline our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
The office building was upgraded with energy-efficient measures and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including both a photovoltaic (PV) system and a solar thermal system. As a visible symbol of our identity and dedication, we have also placed the AKOTEC logo on the building’s facade. This allows every visitor to immediately recognize that they are in the right place to discover our high-quality solar thermal and energy solutions.
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the contract for the Eugen Kienbaum natural gas pipeline project – a significant milestone for AKOTEC.
This project involves the construction of a large-scale solar thermal system for what will be Germany’s largest process heat installation: the gas pressure regulating station of the Eugen gas pipeline in Kienbaum. To bring this ambitious project to life, we will produce a total of 165 MEGA Collector segments, which will be assembled on-site into a large-scale collector. These collectors, installed across an area of 4,000 square meters, will provide the Kienbaum facility with sustainable green energy.
This project is a further testament to our expertise in solar thermal technology and our commitment to delivering sustainable energy solutions. We are proud to contribute to the use of renewable energy in such a significant and future-oriented installation.
We are proud to have received the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award for our commitment and development efforts. This award was presented to us for the creation of a large-scale thermal collector for CO₂-free solar heat integration into local and district heating networks.
The use of the MEGA Collector eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming piping within solar fields, enabling a more sustainable and efficient use of solar energy. A total of 206 companies, organizations, and start-ups applied for the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award, and we are honored that our work was among the ten outstanding submissions nominated by the jury for this prestigious prize.
This award is a recognition of our team’s dedication and commitment to innovative solutions in the field of renewable energy.
It’s hard to believe, but we are already celebrating our 10-year anniversary at AKOTEC – a great reason to celebrate! Preparations for the celebration are in full swing, and in October the time will finally come.
These 10 years have been filled with development and progress for AKOTEC, and now it’s time to take the next step. We are therefore excited to announce that Katrin Sprenger has been appointed to the management team. This is an exciting milestone in our company’s history, and we look forward to continuing our success story together.
We are always looking for new opportunities to expand our markets, which is why we actively take advantage of the programs offered by various German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs). In October, we had the opportunity to participate in an AHK event in Lisbon, Portugal.
This trip allowed us to present our company to a professional audience and visit potential clients directly afterward. The journey to Portugal was a great success and provided us with valuable opportunities for business expansion.
We had the great opportunity to visit a potential customer in Austria and present our impressive MEGA Collector.
For this visit, we brought along a specially made, compact model of our typically large MEGA Collector, which usually measures 2×6 meters. This journey took us south to Austria, where we showcased our innovative product and highlighted the benefits of the MEGA Collector.
At Intersolar in Munich, we had the exciting opportunity to present our latest innovation: the STC, which stands for Single Tube Collector. This collector represents a groundbreaking development for our company.
The STC consists of a full vacuum tube and a header pipe, forming a high-performance collector unit. These two components are the essential building blocks that make the STC an efficient and powerful solar thermal collector. With this presentation at the trade fair, we once again demonstrated our commitment to innovation and quality in the solar thermal industry.
We are proud to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement with the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund. This marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time a company from the Uckermark region has entered into such a partnership with a university.
Our shared goal in this cooperation is to attract well-educated professionals to the Uckermark. At the same time, we aim to align education and research more closely with the real-world needs and practical challenges of our region. This collaboration will enable us to train qualified talent while developing innovative solutions tailored to the demands of our community.
The Enertec trade fair in Leipzig was another exciting and memorable event for us. At this fair, we had the opportunity to meet many of our loyal long-standing customers from southern Germany in person and engage in valuable conversations.
These trade show visits are always a great opportunity for us to reconnect with existing customers, gain deeper insight into their needs, and build new relationships. We truly value the chance to showcase our product portfolio and share our expertise in the field of renewable energy. Once again, the Enertec fair reminded us how important personal interaction with our customers and partners truly is.
Straight off the plane from Intersolar in Mumbai, India, we headed directly to the award ceremony for the Zukunftspreis Brandenburg.
This was a very special moment for us, as it marked our first award and a well-deserved recognition of our years of hard work. We were—and still are—overwhelmed with pride at how far we’ve come and how much our team has accomplished. The Zukunftspreis Brandenburg was a strong affirmation of our efforts to develop innovative solutions in solar technology and to make a positive contribution to the environment and sustainable energy generation. This award continues to motivate us to move forward and invest even more in the future of renewable energy.
Our first participation in the international solar exhibition, Intersolar in Munich, was an exciting milestone for us.
There, we had the opportunity to present our Inflecs-Pro system – an in-roof reflector system designed for our full vacuum tube collectors. The trade fair provided the perfect platform to showcase our product portfolio to a broad audience and to gain valuable insights into the latest developments in the solar industry. During the event, we established many new contacts and held interesting and insightful conversations.
This experience deepened our understanding of our customers’ needs and requirements, and it continues to motivate us to develop innovative solutions for solar thermal energy.
We still vividly remember the excitement of the moment when our first 40-foot container—loaded with a total of 96 full vacuum tube collectors and 2,200 vacuum tubes including accessories—was shipped to the USA.
It was a logistical challenge that we managed in just under two hours, and then the long sea journey began. We are proud to say that everything went smoothly, and our products arrived safely and intact in the United States. This was an important milestone for our company and proves that our products are not only in demand locally, but also gaining recognition on an international level.
We launched the heat pipe collector – a groundbreaking product in our development history.
This collector is based on an entirely new tube technology, the so-called “heat pipe” tube, which was specifically developed for this purpose. We didn’t just redesign the tube itself, but also optimized the entire collector to match. The result is a collector that is significantly lower in maintenance than its predecessors and offers exceptional flexibility across a wide range of applications.
With this innovation, we are once again setting new standards in the solar thermal industry and look forward to supporting our customers with this high-quality product.
Our production began at Grundmühlenweg 3 in Angermünde, where we started with a team of five dedicated employees.
In this hall, we not only manufactured our products but also focused heavily on further development. It also served as the location of our office. We began with the production of the OEM Vario df collector – a milestone in our company’s history. At the time, our services were exclusively aimed at OEM customers, for whom we developed customized solutions.
