New BEG funding in 2021: Solar thermal energy remains lucrative

On January 1, 2021, the new Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG) came into effect in Germany. The BEG consolidates several programs previously managed by KfW and BAFA. The funding rate for solar thermal systems remains at 30 percent in 2021.

On January 1, 2021, the new Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG) came into effect in Germany. The BEG integrates several programs from the previous providers, KfW and BAFA. The funding rate for solar thermal remains at 30 percent in 2021.

In connection with the implementation of the BEG, the individual measures sub-program started on January 1. The previous program for heating optimization and heating with renewable energies was replaced. However, the funding conditions for solar thermal energy in the BEG funding remain unchanged. These were carried over from the “Heating with Renewable Energies” program by the government.

Thus, the funding rate for solar thermal energy in the BEG program remains at 30 percent. By combining with other renewable energies into an EE hybrid heating system, a funding rate of 35 percent is possible.

Previous funding programs for energy efficiency and renewable energies in the building sector, including the Market Incentive Program for the use of renewable energies in the heating market, are now bundled into a modernized funding offer under the new BEG.

If you’re interested in a solar thermal system, AKOTEC will be happy to provide a non-binding offer and inform you about current funding opportunities.

AKOTEC solar systems serve as powerful and efficient support for heating and hot water systems. The 100% German-made products impress the market with high performance and efficiency.
